Whalers CC won by 47
runs
The Whalers ended their late-season

at the weekend. Batting first, the top 3 of debutant James Battersby
(57), Channa (24) and Ben Manzi
(24) all scored Whalers bests, and built a good platform for some hitting from
Dan (63* from 39 balls), Pip, Duncs, and Adam Strang, as the Whalers racked up an imposing 229-7 from
their 35 overs.

keeping the pressure on from the other end, Rob took the first 5 wickets to
fall, including 2 catches behind the wicket and a good catch from Matt to bag
the 5th wicket, to get his name up in lights on the Whalers honours board (5-18
from 7 overs). The game drifted a bit after that,
with the Whalers again unable to polish off the tail despite trying virtually

finally ran out winners with Cairns Fudge finishing on 182-9 from their 35 overs.
The game was also our chance to say goodbye to Adam Strang,
who after 1 Whalers season is heading back to his native
